My coats

Hiya:)
Please could people give me opinions about my coats and how to improve them, which would be good for the black pearl etc. The palomino is my first attempt and the chestnut, my second. I did all the bases. Thanks:)

The shading on them are amazing!!

For the first one, the ear kind of looks like a horn though. Other than that it's great

Also on the second one I'd make the braids just a tad bit different. The braid at the top (closest to the head) should be the biggest and the last one (by the back) should be the smallest, as it's the spot with the least amount of mane.

the shading is done very well, but the edges look a bit blurry.the mane /tail and eyes could use a bit more touchup. good start though!

hmmm my manes and tails are the worst which is why I left the pegasus maneless and only a very plain tail. I also did that so that is wouldn't interfere with the wings and their bright blueness compared to the rest of the body. Does any one have any ideas about how to do my mane so that it looks natural (not like my other ones which I copied unsucessfully from tutorials section)
