Erm, could I have some help on manes and tails please =D

I'm not sure where this should go, I think this is right..

Anyway, I've got this far with my coat:


But I'm stuck with the mane and tail. I've tried using Stechpalme.'s tuto, which is the one I usually use, but it ends up looking like a cactus sticking out of the horses rear =/
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you feel it would be better, you can message me on here, or on howrse. My username is MissWelsh.

Also, if you could comment a little on the coat so far, that would be brill.

[center]*First Draw the tail outline. Its not the best but I had to do something fast.


*Fill it in with the same color. I used your exact coat color so it'll look the same.


*Find 2-3 colors to make lines in the tail with. Since its bay I used extra black lines.


*Smudge it all. I usually use 30.


*Blur it.

*This is with a black tail fill. I'll post it in 1 minute.[/center]

*Fill the tail black. And add lines. I only used 2 color of lines.


*Smudge and Blur.

What? The tail? I'm good at doing them. I learned tails before body colors.

Miss Welsh, your coat looks really good! I would add just a little more shading and some highlights maybe, smudge around the nose in circles a little, and smudge the strip on the face. It's looks awesome already though!! Fantasic job! I'm sure you'll get the main and tail down soon. It just takes practice!! And yes, i believe you posted in the right place.

Yeah that is nice. Do not know if you drew that but the hindquarters are way to think and the horse looks pretty fat, and has very little withers.

yea its not my best coat and i forgot who drew it but i got it from the french fourm

Lol, yes Diamond! I'm busy with some layouts at the mo, but I should be able to get on with it tomorow and add some more to it
