I have a way i train my foals. It brings the GP up a lot!! i got it off CraXoR's page i think. Do you want me to post it? I gots it on a notecard with a lot of other methods i use somewheres around here. I was going to make a book guide thingy mabobber, but again, i don't have a lot of time! Oh, okay, i found it. Here it is if you want...

Ultimate Foal Raising Guide (perfected by Equideo players Wink )

8 months
1. 1hour 30 min. pasture
2. salt stone (or box 30 min. to increase chance of finding salt stone)
3. Grooming
4. 7hours playing
5. turnip
6. 1hour playing
7. stroking x2 (you get the best result when stroking at a very low energy. It brings energy up about six percent)
8. carrot (assuming you EC has them)
9. Drinking
10. 2hours pasture
11. Feeding
12. bedtime 22:00
(all of these should end at 22:00 leaving you horse around 20% energy. you might have to adjust it to fit your foal though.)

I had to adjust this schedule to my foals sometimes b/c i think lesser GP foals can't play as long b/c they use more energy, but im 10% unsure about that...I know i didn't get to play as long b/c of energy, and didn't get as many points in the GP as i could've. But hopefully i helped! If ya'll need any more guides, let me know, and i'll see if i have it! I have some right now... i just have to put them all together. Sorry this is really long! It sure does take a lot of room... Shocked Laughing

Ooh and when you train, I do 2h in the pasture then salt stone. It gets their energy to 100 and you can get more training in them! Especially with short galloping rides, you get 3 one hour rides instead of 2 one hour rides and a 30min ride.

I didn't totally get that Stechpalme....Does anyone mind if i post other methods for training and the like? If anyone else has any training methods or something they use, i would love to try it out! Also, i've been wondering, i've heard that training your mares and taking lessons with them while they're in gestation can bring down the GP of the foal a little bit. Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't had the time to experiment with it, so i really don't know....

that is a good question although i do not see why i would bring them down concidering that the game is not that detailed but i do not know!???

Basically, just do 2 hours in the pasture then salt stone before you train them... It gets more training in them.. which is always good.

Oh, okay Stechpalme.! Now i get it! I will definately try that. I might have to do some advising on my games method now! Yeah, i read on another forum that people had noticed this. Im not really sure, but i'll test it out and tell you guys if you like.

How would i test the breeding thing? Easy, i'd just cover two of my mares with the same GP with the same exact stallion. One i would train and do lessons with and the other i wouldn't. If the foal from the mare i didn't train has a higher GP than the other, than i my hypothesis is correct. Either way i get my answer. I'd just have to find another mare with the same GP as one of mine. That could be slightly difficult....

well that is if you have two mares taht are exactly alike!?

I could get two mares that are exactly alike. I'd just have to use the fertility wand on my next foals and hope they're females. That way they'll come out with the same coat, same GP, same IS, and same BLUP. then i could therefore train them until i could breed them, and cover them with the same stallion and work one while she's in gestation and not the other. Then i would be able to easily tell if my assumption is correct or not. the problem is just getting the passes....

if they are not you could buy two lightning bolts to change their gender! That is alot of money and work for one project!

Well yeah, but it would help me too. I'm very picky about GP, and try to get it the highest that i can. If i can get it higher, by all means, i want to!

You're new at gp? One way i get my horses gp up is i breed one of my best mares to the highest gp horse that i can find that has good training and 100 BLUP. It usually comes out with good results! I got a 358 once and a 356, which i raised to 357 something with this method, and from there i just go higher! I saw your new stud. He's cute! He has a 349 gp i think, right? He should be a good stallion!

XD yep something like that and i only paid about 600 dollars for him cause everyone is disinterested in the regular horses when i got him!
